Challenge

Zion Sports was founded by two former professional rugby players to help them stay connected to the game they love by sharing their passion, inside knowledge and experience.

Over time, the business had become the vehicle for a number of entrepreneurial activities, creating a lack of focus and losing sight of why they started on this journey.

Our challenge was to show how they could benefit from more joined up brand, play to their strengths and increase the number of tenders and opportunities by having a clear purpose and story that would connect with clubs.

Solution

The founders’ deep-rooted passion for the rugby is inspiring.

We needed a way to bring out more ‘belief-centred’ content, making sure the real spirit and passion of rugby came through the brand. We focused on their ‘why’, crafting the brand and the offer around the belief that ‘grass roots rugby is the beating heart of the game’. And that Zion Sport could empower everyone involved by making the expertise, skills and resources they need to flourish, accessible to all.

We redefined their offer, bringing together how the business could support clubs, coaches and players as well as provide comprehensive kit design and manufacture and an online portal to help players find clubs and coaches find players at every level of the game.

We summed this all up in the line, Passion into Performance. An emotive idea to show that any club can turn their passion for the game into success on and off the field.

To support the brand, we designed a new logo, sharpened up their messaging to add in the personality of club rugby and developed a visual style that put them on the same level as other sports brands.
